We got in plenty of relaxation in addition to sampling much of what the city has to offer including: Torrey Pines State Reserve, La Jolla Beach, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Seaport Village, and the downtown Gaslamp District.

We took the Costa Magica, a new ship from the Italian cruise line, Costa Cruises.  It was a very nice ship with a friendly staff.  Our cruise departed Ft. Lauderdale, and travelled to San Juan, Puerto Rico, followed by St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, then to the Dominical Republic and finally the Grand Turks before returning to Ft. Lauderdale.

It was a perfect combination of relaxation and exploration. We opted for just two destinations for our 10 day trip: Maui and the Big Island.
